Master Artisan from the Academie de Versailles in France, Chef Matt studied under the Champion French Pastry Chef in Paris before coming to Michigan to practice his craft. After which he opened his own Patisserie & Crepêrie in Downtown Birmingham, Michigan in 2003. The retail store, Cannella Patisserie, was voted best of Detroit 2008. The store is now called Cannelle Patisserie. Chef Matt’s work has been recognized by several magazines such as Metro Times, Style Magazine, Hour, and the Detroit Free Press.
